After returning from the Viet Nam War, Franco discovered Tai Chi. In 1984, after years of personal training with the late Master Jou, Tsung Hwa, he went to China for study at the Beijing Institute of Physical Education. From there he visited with Tai Chi schools in Hong Kong and Taiwan. This is where he learned the authentic method of Tai Chi.
Now, the retired bluegrass musician hopes to pass on the many health benefits of Tai Chi to others, especially retirees, whose health often deteriorates in a less-than-active lifestyle, he said.
